Some Home Decor For the Craftista

So if you checked out the previous post you'll have seen lots of bags. Those are some of the things that I make. The other things that I have made (though not recently) are throw pillows!And placemats! Everything that you see in the pictures was created by moi. Well to be more accurate the gems were bought and I didn't physically weave the cloth. I bought white cotton shirts and pillow cases at thrift stores and then colored them with my fabric markers to make all of the designs that I would want in a fabric. What looks like the trim of the pillows also happens to be a part of them. When I created the squares for the front and back of the pillows I colored a portion around the perimeter (again with my markers!). Cutting out little squares here and there then created the jagged look and voila! My own handmade trim. :-) It's a lot of fun creating these kinds of things but also just brainstorming as well. Everyday I try and think of new projects, and when you look around at the things that you have lying around or at what people would normally call junk, you can actually end up creating some of the most beautiful things out of them. Perhaps in my next post I will show the flower girls I've made. I created them partially out of bottle caps; hence the whole junk to super funk idea. Enjoy the rest of the pics!
